Fly Fishing
Introduction
If you have never seen anyone fly fishing, you should make it a point to do so. An experienced fly caster tends to attract attention, even from fellow experienced casters. Some consider fly fishing to be less productive or even slow, however, nothing could be farther from the truth. Fly fishing is not simply a relaxing pastime, but it is an exciting sport that comparatively few participate in.
There is a slightly longer learning curve to get you productive in this sport, however, it is often said to be one of the most rewarding fishing experiences you will have. Admittedly, the folks at Fishresource.com do not spend enough time fly fishing, but this is something we are looking to change.
Those who are used to spinning or bait casting gear should not be intimidated - try fly fishing. It is not difficult to learn and although you may feel a little awkward and clumsy with the equipment at first, it should take little time to be productive. With certain species and conditions, fly fishing can be much more productive than other fishing methods.
Fly fishing is also a sport that is increasing in popularity. When thinking of casting flies, one generally thinks of trout splashing as they strike as the fly castor works the river, however, fly fishing is expanding to include many species traditionally not sought after with flies. A number of lodges in Saskatchewan, for example, will help you land big northern pike on fly casting tackle.
Take a serious look at fly fishing if you haven't already, and see if you can entice fish with this age old method.
