Northwest Territories Weather

Fishresource.com, having experienced the Northwest Territories, highly recommends that you visit during the summer season. Summer is far and above the most accessible, forgiving and pleasant season in the Northwest Territories. With the sun out often round the clock, as much as 24 hours a day (within the Arctic Circle), the temperatures sometimes get up to 88 F/31 C. Within the Mackenzie Valley (which receives the most precipitation and is warmest having the most rain and snow), 90 F/32 C is not uncommon, during the height of summer. If venturing here beyond the summer months, be prepared for cooler weather by taking sweaters and a jacket. Visitors in late spring and early fall will want layers as well. The winters here are another discussion entirely. They are dark and the days are very short. But, most of all it is very cold. We do not recommend that you visit the Northwest Territories in the winter unless you know what you are doing.

Welcome to Northwest Territories

Anytime is a good time to visit the Northwest Territories (NWT). The long days of summer allow access to the numerous lakes and rivers with their large stocks of fish. Yellowknife is the capital and hub for air connections to all over the territories. We invite you to contact the lodges, numerous outfitters and tour operators who will help you land the prize fish you seek! Another favourite of Fishresource.com...

Please don't forget to mention Fishresource.com when you contact these resorts, camps, lodges and guides so we can continue to offer this service. Thanks.
