Charmaine landed this one from the South Saskatoon River on a pickerel rig with 8lb test. There was a minnow on the top hook and a worm on the bottom which she says, usually pulls in suckers and pickerel from the shore. Nice fish, Charmaine !

Charmaine writes, "Too bad we don't have a picture of the sturgeon we caught last year in the same spot - it was 54 inches long and believe it or not my husband also caught it on a pickerel rig with 8lb test. The J hook was an L hook by the time it was landed 30 minutes later! We always bring a camera now."

The 9 pounder shown below was sent to us by Jahu Tolson from Washington state. Special thanks to his friend Dick Morgan who took him fishing at Lake Placid that day. "It was like reeling in a big salmon," writes Jahu. Good fishing !
